Brooke's Top 10 Bible Stories - #6

#6: The Flood

Noah's Ark

We could learn a lot of lessons from Noah's life. He and his family were the only followers of God on the whole planet (and Christians today complain that they feel alone). Not only was he the only follower of God on the planet, he spent 120 years building a big boat on dry land, saying that water was going to fall from the sky and flood the earth, when it had never rained before! Imagine how he was ridiculed.

On top of all that, when the rains started, he spent nearly a year on the boat, before the waters receded enough for him to get out. Then after he got out of the boat, it was just him and his family. It must have been lonely. Adam and Eve, at least, didn't know any other people

I also like the rainbow from the story, where God promised that he'd never again destroy the earth by flood. He also promised that there would always be seasons... although the seasons are more pronounced in some places than other.

Noah is someone that we can emulate in our lives (except for the getting drunk and letting your kids see you naked part). No matter what other people think, we need to keep on doing what is right.

Special thanks to Brookelorren , love it !
